Type T, Solid TFE Gaskets

Applications
Use this very versatile gasket wherever you have a style 1 or style 2 flange. As you can see from the cross-sectional drawing, these gaskets all have a semi-circular bead molded on each side. This bead seats into the grooves of the conical pipe and makes is much easier to get a good gasket-seal at relatively low bolting torques. Style 1 for sizes 1" to 3" inclusive has three ears with brass clips to hold them in place while installing. Style 2 for sizes 4" and 6" has a "self-centering" asbestos device.
