*Care should be taken when designing glands.

U-Packings

1. Dimensional tolerance and surface finish of the glands should be in accordance with Figure G-1. The roughness of packing sliding faces should be 0.4a for rubber packings and 0.8a for rubber-proofed cotton fabric v-packings.
2. The diameter clearance between the piston diameter (D1) and the cylinder diameter is recommended per Figure G-2.
3. The cylinder end and the piston end myst be chamfered as shown by Figure G-2 so as not to damage packings when mounting them and/or assembling cylinders.
4. H9/f8 is recommended for fitting between the cylinder tube and the piston, Figure G-1.
